Child Find is a component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that requires districts to identify, locate, and evaluate children with disabilities, regardless of their disabilities, who may need special education services. Children receive a developmental screening that may include vision, hearing, communication, academic readiness skills, motor skills, and social/emotional skills.
