Keeping children safe from lead poisoning is critical

While lead can cause problems for people of every age, protecting children under age 5 from lead poisoning is especially important because their brains and bodies are growing so quickly. The SC Department of Public Health (DPH) provides information on how to limit lead exposure.

The Lead Testing in Schools and Child Care Centers program is also available and provides free water lead testing to schools and child care programs across the state. Click here to learn more.
